HOW OUR PROGRAM WORKS
FAQs: Homeschooling Curriculum for RECEPTION, YEAR 1 & YEAR 2
Firstly, it is important to understand that this is a resource for parents! In this curriculum you will have everything YOU need to teach your child effectively. The whole curriculum is produced with you in mind for ease of use. Each day, use the resources provided to structure your day and teach your child.
Reception-aged children require clear, step-by-step instructions—not just for academic learning but also for their physical, social and brain development. They are sensory learners and need hands-on, sensory-rich activities to support their growth, helping them engage, explore and build key skills in a way that feels natural and enjoyable to them.
For this reason, it is important that screen time is limited, as excess can stunt their physical development, making them less resilient.
Our curriculum is designed for parents who are homeschooling or working with children at home in Reception (ages 4-5), Year 1 (ages 5-6), and Year 2 (ages 6-7). It aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework and the National Curriculum, ensuring that your child develops the essential skills and knowledge needed to progress toward and eventually pass their SATs.
While homeschooled children are not required to take the SATs, and children with special educational needs may not be expected to participate, taking these tests can provide valuable insight into how your child is progressing in comparison to their peers.
At the end of Year 2, your child will have the opportunity to take the SATs, but the results will not be submitted for government statistics. Instead, they will serve as a tool to help YOU track your child’s progress and ensure they are on the right path for success at each stage of their early education.
This curriculum follows the EYFS Framework and National Curriculum, but it has been simplified for parents, making it easy to use. All the planning and resources are provided, so you can confidently support your child—whether you are homeschooling or helping with schoolwork.
Unlike some programs that rely heavily on interactive games, this curriculum prioritises hands-on, physical learning, which is essential for young children's brain development. It is designed for parents, with clear, step-by-step instructions to help you teach your child effectively at home.
We believe children learn best through interaction, exploration and real-world experiences—not from passive screen-time. Our curriculum encourages meaningful connections between you and your child, helping them learn through play, creativity, physical activity and your guidance.

Yes, your child can take SATs tests in English and Maths at the end of Year 2.
